Little Leak or Huge Headache?

The new homeowners, who had an 8-month-old child, found a small leak in the basement. The plumber they contacted said the new flex piping wasn’t installed correctly, leading to a leak. Because the old and new pipes were not connected properly, water gradually dripped and pooled on the kitchen’s hardwood flooring. The water also flowed further down into the basement walls, causing mold to grow completely through the basement walls and up the hallway towards the kitchen. To remedy this issue, the flooring of both rooms and the basement drywall will need to be removed and replaced.
